The content I produce has always been for my clients and fellow photographers and never just for self promotion. So I have to say it feels strange sharing a video about me. But I love what the Academy does so much, highlighting every day Jiu Jitsu practitioners like myself, that I want to spread the word anyway I can.
I first met the creator of The Academy, Mathew Hickney, as a subject of one of my own projects, People Who Train. Not long afterward he asked me to be one of his subjects for The Academy. Since then we’ve collaborated on other professional projects, shooting events in Los Angeles.
Jiu Jitsu has had a huge impact in how I approach my work as an event photographer. In fact, many of the methodology I use was first implemented on the mats in the gym.
